2007 599GTB Fiorano

One of the best and the most recent sports car that you can expect to see from Ferrari is going to be the 599GTB. This new one will be replacing the two seater 575M Maranello. The 599GTB is largely based on the four seater 612 Scaglietti’s aluminum intensive platform and is quite different from its stablemate by offering a six inch shorter wheelbase.

The new bodywork done on the vehicle, which was created by Pininfarina will boast a bigger and of course more powerful V12 engine. Ferrari has stated that the 599GTB will have the most powerful V12 engine that has ever been placed inside a series production vehicle. The 6.0 liter V12 will make 611 horsepower and 460 pound feet of torque.

It’s not an all-new engine, being related to the 12-cylinder in the handcrafted Enzo supercar. You can expect the curb weight to be about 3700 pounds, which will put the aluminum 599GTB at roughly 300 fewer pounds than the 508-hp 575M Maranello.

If Ferrari lives up to its claims, the 599GTB should be able to post a 0-to-60 time of less than four seconds and a quarter-mile time below 12 seconds. The 599GTB goes on sale at the end of the summer of 2006. It is beleived that this new vehicle will command a price of at least $250,000.
