All Ferrari Models To Receive Carbon Ceramic Brakes
For the 2008 model year Ferrari will be equipping all of their vehicles with carbon ceramic brakes making them standard. 85% of its customers order the hugely expensive and powerful system and that along with, “the enhanced performance, durability and comfort offered by CCM brakes and a desire to underscore [Ferrari’s] technical leadership” lead to the decision to make the brakes a standard item.
Ferrari claims to have been the first manufacturer to put CCM stoppers on a road car, five years ago on its Enzo supercar. Now, thanks to advances in technology that make the F1-tech feasible for ‘everyday’ use, it will be the first to fit them to its entire range.
CCM brakes offer massively reduced weight, huge braking power, much longer life and better consistency and resistance to fade than traditional ferrous items.
