Kimi Will Win The Hearts Of Ferrari
Alex Wurz beleives that Kimi Raikkonen can win the hearts of the tifosi in much the same way that Gilles Villeneuve had won them. Villeneuve, long considered to be one of Ferrari’s greatest sons, was a legend in the eyes of the tifosi, and Wurz believes Raikkonen can show that same kind of passion.
Yet, in order for that to happen, he stated that the Ferrari faithful will need to realise that Raikkonen isn’t seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher. He is a different man and he has his own unique style. “Kimi will do just fine at Ferrari, better than fine,” the Williams told F1-Racing magazine.
“Once they’ve accepted that he’s Kimi and not Schumi, they’ll learn to love him. “Because he’s easy to understand and therefore to love: a big talent who just enjoys what he’s doing. “And if he’s good at it, which he is, and he’s consistent over a number of seasons, then I believe he could follow in the footsteps of Gilles Villeneuve rather than Michael. “And, if things work out like that, then they might well be just perfect for both Ferrari and Kimi.”
